چکیده

Royal Victoria Infirmary. Newcastle upon Tyne Radio-fibrinogen catabolism study is a sensitive way of assessing active participation of fibrin in the pathogenesis of renal disease. In general in oliguric patients accelerated fibrinogen catabolic rates are reflected by an increase of serum fibrin products. To evaluate further the role of intravascular coagulation and to assess the potential of heparinization in management, patients with oliguric glomerulonephritis, accelerated hypertension and transplant rejection underwent short-term administration of heparin during the course of a radio-fibrinogen study. Heparin produced an increase of glomerular filtration rate measured by Cr-EDTA clearances. Beneficial effects on fibrinogen catabolism were also found in some cases of accelerated hypertension and transplant rejection, but heparin alone did not influence rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis. 1. Background : Chronic kidney disease is an important health issue that its prevalence is increasing both in the worldwide and in our country. In the end stage renal disease (ESRD), lifelong renal replacement therapy with hemodialysis (the most frequent), peritoneal hemodialysis or kidney transplantation is required. Hemodialysis is the most frequent. Hemodialysis adequacy and nutritional stat...

Nutritional Status of Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease in Iran: A Narrative Review

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive condition that affects many aspects of patient’s life with adverse outcomes of kidney failure, cardiovascular disease (CVD), and premature death. Fibrinogen catabolism study of three patients with bacterial endocarditis and renal disease.

Three patients with bacterial endocarditis who developed renal failure have been studied by means of a radiofibrinogen catabolism study. Two were studied at the time of bacteraemia and one during the subsequent "immunological phase" of circulating immune complexes. Accelerated fibrinogen catabolism was found in all cases. Intravascular coagulation may be an important factor in the pathogenesis ...

The effect of genistein on intracerebroventricular streptozotocin-induced cognitive deficits in male rat

Abstract  Introduction: Intracerebroventricular (ICV) injection of streptozotocin (STZ) causes cognitive impairment in rats. The beneficial effect of genistein (GEN) was investigated on ICV STZ-induced learning, memory, and cognitive impairment in male rats. Methods: For this purpose, rats were injected with ICV STZ bilaterally, on days 1 and 3 (3 mg/kg). The STZ-injected rats received GEN (1...

Renal Transplantation in Patient with Fabry’s Disease Maintained by Enzyme Replacement Therapy

Fabry’s disease (FD) is a rare inborn error of glycosphingolipid catabolism can lead to renal failure. The life expectancy is reduced for both genders, and the major causes of death include cardiac death, stroke, or the consequences of end stage of renal disease. This article summarizes the current knowledge about FD and the treatment of kidney transplantation and enzyme replacement therapy in FD.
